In the late 1960's, with the Veterinary Medical Association

chastising the medical profession for housing unhealthy pets,

a local veterinarian and contractor pioneer the enclosed

boarding facility. Purr’n Pooch Wall Township opens its

doors in 1969, becoming the first “controlled environment”

boarding facility in the country.
